The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning in Bahrain has been taking steps to address issues related to rainwater drainage and recycling. Eng. Khalaf, a representative from the ministry, stated that while attempts were made to inject stormwater into underground water sources, environmental concerns halted the process. The ministry has instead focused on utilizing rainwater for irrigation purposes and has implemented measures to reduce the negative impact of rainwater flooding on public areas. Tenders have been offered for tanks and containers to excavate excessive water, and upgrades have been made to vacuum tankers and pumps.

One of the main challenges faced by the ministry during the rainy season is the uncivil behavior of individuals who remove sewage manhole covers, allowing rainwater to mix with the sewerage network. This behavior damages the network and can lead to sewerage backing up into homes and facilities. The ministry has been raising awareness about the dangers of such actions and has fulfilled requests for rainwater roof coatings to prevent leakages in homes, especially for low and medium-income citizens.

In efforts to reduce increasing traffic congestion in Bahrain, the ministry is working on developing strategic roads and infrastructural projects funded through the state budget or the GCC Marshall Plan. Smaller projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion have been implemented, such as opening new entries, exits, and intersections. These projects have received positive feedback from motorists and have helped reduce traffic jams. Plans for further projects to address traffic congestion are in progress.

The construction of the much-anticipated fourth bridge connecting Manama and Muharraq in Bahrain is a prominent project being financed by the GCC Marshall Plan. The budget for the project is set at USD250 million, with tenders currently in the evaluation phase. The bridge is part of the Muharraq Ring Road project and is expected to be completed by the year 2020. The project aims to improve connectivity between the northern parts of the Capital, Bahrain Bay, Busaiteen, and Diyar Al Muharraq.

EXEED, a brand focusing on personalized consumer needs in the automotive industry, has launched a co-creation program to gather insights and expertise from Stellar owners, motor enthusiasts, and professionals. The program aims to create smarter models for the market and meet user expectations for independent high-end brands. Stellar, the first model developed under the program, incorporates a “4F” product development concept that focuses on intelligent mobility and the future of smart travel. The model features high efficiency, low fuel consumption, Level 4 automatic driving, FOTA updates, and various driving modes.

Salero, a Spanish restaurant in Bahrain, offers a Saturday lunch buffet with a variety of delicious dishes and desserts. The pastry chefs at the restaurant prepare mouth-watering desserts such as churros, profiteroles, brownies, and a ten-layer chocolate cake. The restaurant also features live music and a friendly staff, creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Chef Jordi Bataller, the man behind the menu, occasionally visits the restaurant, adding a special touch to the dining experience. Reservations for the Saturday brunch buffet can be made by calling the restaurant.
