The programme, which focuses on professional development leadership, was delivered by human resources specialists from the CMU campus in Pittsburgh over the spring semester. Participants included staff members from CMU Africa, CMU-Q, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Qatar Foundation, VCUArts Qatar, and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. Michael Trick, the dean of CMU-Q, praised the integration and growth of the multiversity over the years and emphasized the importance of knowledge-sharing and collaboration in Education City.

The CMULead-Qatar programme is an embodiment of Qatar Foundation’s vision for Education City, where universities come together to learn and grow in cooperation. The programme, which has been successfully running in Pittsburgh for years, was taught remotely in Qatar by Todd Rosignoli and Wendy Brenneman from the CMU Office of Human Resources, with three in-person sessions at the CMU-Q campus. Trick expressed his hope that the success of the Qatar programme will open the doors for more initiatives from the Pittsburgh campus to be introduced into professional development options at CMU-Q.
