The UAE Jiu-Jitsu fighters recently showcased their exceptional skills during the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship held at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi. Thailand successfully defended their title by securing an impressive total of 11 gold medals. As the adult division competitions came to a close, the UAE team continued their dominance in the sport and claimed the championship title for the fourth consecutive year.

On the final day of the adult competition, the UAE national team put on a stellar performance, adding seven more medals to their tally. With a total of 18 medals, including six gold, seven silver, and five bronze, they showcased their strength in the Jiu-Jitsu category. Hazza Farhan, Saeed Alkubaisi, and Shamma Al Kalbani secured gold for the UAE team, while others like Faraj Alawlaqi, Bashayer Almatrooshi, and Abdullah Alkubaisi claimed silver medals.

Thailand’s outstanding performance enabled them to retain their title from the previous year, earning a total of 13 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals across various disciplines. Kazakhstan secured the second position with a total of 46 medals, including 12 gold, 18 silver, and 16 bronze. Despite only competing in the Jiu-Jitsu discipline, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team’s impressive showing earned them a commendable third-place finish overall.

The championship was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and concluded on May 8. The competitions were attended by various esteemed personalities, including Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation, and Abdulmunem Alsayedmohamed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, commended the national team for their outstanding performance and for securing the continental title in Jiu-Jitsu for the fourth consecutive year. He praised the dedication and sacrifices made by the athletes and technical staff across all levels and highlighted the exceptional growth of the sport of Jiu-Jitsu as seen during the Asian Championship.
