Team Els emerges victorious at Lincoln DG Pro-Am at Jumeirah Golf Estates – News

Jackson Bell secured victory in the recent Lincoln DG Pro-Am with a three-under-par 69. The team captained by Brendan Els emerged victorious, shooting a net of 127, 17 under par, with 89 Stableford points. The event saw the participation of 29 teams, each consisting of one Emirates PGA Professional captain and three amateurs from the host club, playing from the Tournament Tees at 7,045 yards. The format involved the best two scores from the team of four on each hole, alongside a Pro Individual event.

The winning team was led by Pro Els, who scored a two-under-par 70, supported by strong performances from the amateurs. Bradley Valentine, Kevin Voegeli, and Daniel Tailor contributed with gross pars to secure the team’s victory over the team captained by Pro Marlon Swarts. The Pro Individual event saw Jackson Bell taking the top spot with a score of 69, followed by Brendan Els at 70 and David Gray at level par 72. The leaderboard was close, with 19 teams finishing within nine points of each other.

Kieren Pratt, the Emirates Golf Federation representative of the Emirates PGA, expressed satisfaction with the event and thanked the sponsors and host club for their support. He mentioned that the Pro-Am was the third qualifier for the 2024-25 Emirates PGA Order of Merit, with the next event scheduled to be the Emirates PGA Pro-Am at Dubai Creek on October 9th. The event was well-received by the participants, with great scoring and an enjoyable day for all involved.

In the team category, Brendan Els’ team topped the leaderboard with 89 Stableford points, followed by Marlon Swarts’ team with 88 points and Mark Young’s team with 87 points. In the Pro Individual category, Jackson Bell claimed the win with a score of 69, with Brendan Els and David Gray finishing in second and third place respectively. Additionally, other professionals like S. Smith from Precision Golf also turned in impressive performances.

Overall, the recent Lincoln DG Pro-Am at Jumeirah Golf Estates was a successful event that showcased the talents of both professional and amateur golfers. With a competitive field, close leaderboard, and impressive individual performances, the day was filled with excitement and camaraderie. The event highlighted the growing popularity of golf in the region and the importance of such competitions in promoting the sport. The organizers, sponsors, and participants all played a crucial role in making the event a memorable and successful one.
