Iga Swiatek continued her successful run at the French Open by storming into the semi-finals with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Marketa Vondrousova. The reigning champion has improved her Paris record to 33-2 and is on track to become the first woman since Justine Henin in 2005-07 to win three consecutive titles at Roland Garros. Swiatek has been in top form since saving a match point in round two and has won 10 of her 11 meetings with Coco Gauff, her semi-final opponent.

Gauff, on the other hand, fought back from a set down to defeat Ons Jabeur and advance to her third straight Grand Slam semi-final. The American is set to face Swiatek, whom she has failed to beat in four previous attempts on clay. Alcaraz also made it to the quarter-finals after dominating Felix Auger-Aliassime, setting up a highly anticipated match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Alcaraz has won all five previous encounters with Tsitsipas and is confident in his ability to continue his success against the Greek player.

Tsitsipas, who saved four set points against Matteo Arnaldi in the last 16, is determined to put an end to Alcaraz’s winning streak against him. Jannik Sinner eased into the quarter-finals after dropping his first set of the tournament against Corentin Moutet, setting up a match against Grigor Dimitrov. This will be Dimitrov’s first Roland Garros quarter-final in his 14th visit to the tournament.

Overall, the French Open has seen some exciting matchups and upsets, with top players showcasing their skills and determination on the clay courts of Roland Garros. Swiatek remains the favorite to clinch her third consecutive title, while Gauff, Alcaraz, Tsitsipas, Sinner, and Dimitrov all present formidable opposition as they compete for a spot in the finals. Tennis fans can expect more thrilling action as the tournament progresses towards crowning the 2024 French Open champions.
