Switzerland’s head coach Murat Yakin is confident ahead of the Euro 2024 quarterfinal match against England. After denying hosts Germany a perfect record and eliminating holders Italy, Yakin believes his team is in the right mood to beat England as well. He highlighted the spirit and good football played by Switzerland in previous matches and expressed readiness for a tough battle against the English team.

Yakin acknowledged that England has big players capable of making a difference in major tournaments. However, he believes that Switzerland is well-prepared to face them and secure a victory. The Swiss coach emphasized the team’s positive mood and readiness for the challenge of playing against England. With a strong performance against Germany and Italy, Switzerland aims to continue their success in the upcoming match.

England, as pre-tournament favorites, have faced criticism for their below-par performances leading up to the quarterfinals. Yakin, who was once in a similar position as England manager Gareth Southgate, understands the pressure and scrutiny associated with leadership roles in football. Despite facing criticism over tactics and performance during qualification, Yakin has managed to turn things around at Euro 2024 and receive praise for his tactical adjustments and team selection.

Yakin expressed empathy towards Southgate, acknowledging the challenges of managing a team with high expectations and managing media scrutiny. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the actual football game rather than external criticism and distractions. With his own experiences in dealing with pressure and criticism, Yakin encouraged Southgate to stay focused on the upcoming match against Switzerland and not be influenced by external factors.

As the quarterfinal match approaches, both Switzerland and England are gearing up for a tough battle on the field. Yakin’s confidence in his team’s ability to beat England reflects the determination and spirit of the Swiss squad. With a solid defense and attacking focus, Switzerland aims to continue their successful run in the tournament and secure a victory over England. The upcoming match promises to be an exciting encounter between two strong teams vying for a spot in the semifinals of Euro 2024.
