Cristiano Ronaldo is set to lead Portugal in his sixth European Championship as the veteran forward has been included in the 26-man squad. Ronaldo, who has scored in every Euro tournament since his debut in 2004, has netted 14 goals in the finals and also scored 10 times in European qualifying matches last year. Despite being 39 years old, Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr where he has been in tremendous form, scoring 42 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions.

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez praised Ronaldo’s performance, highlighting his incredible goal-scoring record of 42 goals in 41 games for his club. Along with Ronaldo, another veteran player, Pepe, has also been included in the squad at the age of 41. Pepe, who plays for Porto and was crucial in their Champions League journey this year, has been recognized for his leadership qualities and experience in the team. Martinez emphasized Pepe’s importance on and off the field, pointing out his role in the dressing room and his defensive skills.

Martinez has also called up nine players from the Premier League, including Ruben Dias, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Diogo Jota. Goncalo Inacio is the sole representative from Sporting in the squad. The squad for the Euros features a mix of experienced players like Ronaldo and Pepe, as well as younger talents who have been making their mark in top European leagues. The inclusion of players from different clubs shows the depth and talent available to the Portuguese national team as they look to make a mark in the upcoming tournament.

Portugal’s squad for the Euros includes a strong defensive lineup with players like Ruben Dias, Pepe, and Nelson Semedo. In midfield, the team boasts Bruno Fernandes, Joao Neves, and Otavio Monteiro, while in attack, talents like Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, and Joao Felix provide the attacking threat. With a good balance of experience and youth, Portugal will be looking to build on their success in recent tournaments and aim for success at the Euros. The squad announcement has generated excitement among fans as they anticipate seeing their favorite players in action on the international stage.

As Portugal prepares for the Euros, all eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be looking to add to his impressive goal-scoring record in the tournament. With the support of experienced players like Pepe and a talented squad around him, Ronaldo will be aiming to lead Portugal to success in the competition. The team’s mix of defensive solidity, midfield creativity, and attacking flair bodes well for their chances at the Euros. With a coach like Roberto Martinez at the helm, Portugal will be aiming to make a strong impression at the tournament and compete against the best teams in Europe.
