The official opening ceremony of the Salon du Cheval El Jadida, Morocco will be held today with the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) participating. The Salon, held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, will feature delegations from 40 Arab and European countries. This year, QREC’s participation comes at the invitation of Morocco, as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture. The event, lasting until October 6, will showcase various equestrian events and championships.

The QREC delegation, led by Chairman Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi and Acting CEO Bader bin Mohammed Al Darwish, will be present at the Salon. Other members of the delegation include QREC Board Member Khalid bin Mohammed Al Ali, Director of PR Salem bin Khejaim Al Adbi, Deputy Director of the Registration and Studbook Department Saad bin Ali Al Kubaisi, and Deputy Head of the Stabling Section Saeed bin Hamad Al-Rashdi. The Pavilion will showcase events organized by QREC, highlighting Arabian horse shows, race meetings at Al Rayyan and Al Uqda racecourses, as well as international racing events sponsored by QREC.

The Pavilion at the Salon will offer visitors a glimpse into Qatar’s impressive achievements in equestrian sports and Arabian racing worldwide. Qatar’s leading role in Arabian horse show discipline, both in winning major titles and organizing shows in the Arab region, will be emphasized. The programme at the Salon will feature the International Arabian Horse show and the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of jumping competition, with participation from Arab and international riders.

One of the main attractions at the Salon will be the Grand Prize of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Tbourida, a popular contest among visitors. The organizing committee expects around 300,000 visitors to attend the Salon over the week-long competitions and shows. This event serves as a platform for promoting Qatar’s equestrian sport achievements and showcasing its contributions to the international equestrian community. The Pavilion will also highlight Qatar’s success in Arabian horse show discipline and its commitment to excellence in the field.

Overall, QREC’s participation in the Salon du Cheval El Jadida demonstrates their dedication to promoting equestrian sports and showcasing Qatar’s achievements on a global platform. The Salon provides an opportunity for QREC to engage with international audiences, exchange knowledge and expertise with other countries, and strengthen cultural ties through sports diplomacy. Furthermore, the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture initiative underscores the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration in enhancing relations between the two countries.

In conclusion, the Salon du Cheval El Jadida serves as a significant platform for showcasing Qatar’s equestrian achievements, promoting Arabian racing worldwide, and strengthening ties with international partners. QREC’s participation in the event highlights their commitment to excellence in the field of equestrian sports and their efforts to promote Qatar as a leading destination for equestrian enthusiasts. With a range of events and competitions planned, the Salon promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for visitors and participants alike.
