Qatar clinches strong start at U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Qatar’s Under-20 head coach Felix Angel expressed great enthusiasm for the team’s upcoming Qualifiers for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup China 2025. The team is fully prepared and eager to make it to the continental finals. The team’s opening match against Singapore in Group J is anticipated to be a tough challenge. Despite playing on home turf, Angel emphasizes that all teams have equal chances in the competition.

Singapore’s head coach Fadzuhasny Juraimi also stated that his team is well-prepared to face strong competition in the qualifiers. With 19 appearances, three more than Qatar, Singapore is ready to showcase their skills and abilities in the tournament. The matches of Group J are being held in Doha, with all games scheduled at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium at 8 pm. The group qualifiers will see matches between Qatar, Singapore, Jordan, and Hong Kong.

The Qualifiers for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup China 2025 consist of 45 teams vying for a spot in the 42nd edition of the tournament. The top teams from each group will qualify for the finals, along with the five best second-placed teams. Host country China, the 1985 champions, will also be among the teams participating in the tournament. China will be hosting the tournament for the second time, with the qualifying stage first introduced for the 1980 edition of the tournament.

Qatar’s squad for the qualifiers includes Abu Bakr Mohammed, Jalal Amir, Mohammed Fawzy, and other talented players. The team is determined to perform well in the competition and secure a spot in the finals. With strong competition expected from teams like Singapore, Jordan, and Hong Kong, Qatar will need to showcase their skills and teamwork to succeed in the qualifiers. The matches will continue until September 29, with the top teams advancing to the finals in China.
