Brazilian superstar Neymar made a triumphant return to the field after more than a year out due to injury. The Al-Hilal forward appeared as a second-half substitute in a thrilling 5-4 victory against Asian champions Al Ain in the UAE. Neymar, who had been sidelined since suffering a knee injury while on international duty, is his country’s all-time leading goalscorer with an impressive record of 79 goals in 128 appearances.

Named on the bench for the first time since his injury, Neymar entered the game on the 76th minute as Al-Hilal was leading 5-3, thanks to goals from Renan Lodi, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and a hat-trick from Salem Al Dawsari. While Neymar cannot be registered for the Saudi Pro League until January, his return to the field is a positive sign for the team.

Hilal coach Jorge Jesus emphasized the importance of getting Neymar back to his peak level through game time, despite the risks it may pose to the team. The Portuguese boss believes that Neymar’s return will be crucial for the team’s success, and using games as a means of preparation is the best way to achieve this. Neymar’s introduction to the match against Al Ain was a step towards his full recovery and form.

In the thrilling encounter, Hilal took the lead with a goal from Renan Lodi, only for Al Ain to draw level through Soufiane Rahimi before half-time. However, Hilal quickly regained control with goals from Joao Cancelo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Salem Al Dawsari to secure a two-goal advantage. Al Ain fought back through Mateo Sanabria and Soufiane Rahimi’s second goal, but Al Dawsari’s superb strike restored Hilal’s lead.

Despite Al Ain’s late effort to close the gap with a penalty from Soufiane Rahimi, the Saudi champions managed to hold on to claim the win. Neymar had limited impact on the game but showed glimpses of his talent with a late effort. With Hilal leading the Western region group with three wins from three matches, Neymar’s return adds strength to the team’s lineup. Al Ain, on the other hand, has picked up only one point in the competition so far.

Neymar’s return to action has generated excitement among football fans, as the Brazilian forward looks to make a strong comeback after overcoming a challenging injury. His presence on the field will undoubtedly boost Al-Hilal’s chances of success in the upcoming matches. With Neymar’s skill and experience, Al-Hilal can count on his contributions to lead the team to further victories in the AFC Champions League and beyond. The upcoming months will be crucial for Neymar as he aims to regain his form and fitness while helping his team achieve their goals in the season.
