The UAE Under-18 Boy’s Team has taken a commanding lead in the Pan Arab Youth Golf Championships held at Tunisia’s Residences Golf Course. The team posted a seven under par score of 135 in the first round, leading Morocco by seven shots. Mohammed Skaik led the charge with an impressive performance, carding a six under par 66 in the opening round. His stellar play, coupled with Rayan Ahmed’s one-under-par 71, has positioned the UAE team well for the remaining two rounds of the competition.
Skaik’s five-birdie front nine and solid play on the back nine, despite a double bogey, propelled the UAE team to the top of the leaderboard. With the recent success of the UAE Ladies’ and Girls’ teams, the boys are now looking to continue their country’s winning streak in the championships. Skaik and Ahmed, who have previously represented the UAE at international events, showcased their experience and poise on the big stage, contributing significantly to their team’s success.
The Pan Arab Youth Golf Championships feature the best two scores from a team of three on each day, with the course being played at 6,800 yards. The Boys Under-18 and Boys Under-16 Divisions are World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) events supported by The R&A.
