Kylian Mbappe, France’s star forward, was named on the bench for the Euro 2024 match against the Netherlands after breaking his nose in the previous game against Austria. Despite training in a mask inspired by the French flag, Mbappe was not risked by manager Didier Deschamps. The winner of this game in Leipzig would secure a spot in the last 16 of the tournament.

After a collision with Austrian defender Kevin Danso left Mbappe bloodied in the opening game, there were concerns about his availability moving forward.
