The highly anticipated matchup between Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to take place on Saturday as Slovenia faces Greece in the Olympic qualifying tournament. The game in Piraeus, Greece marks the first time the two superstars will meet while representing their national teams. Fans are eager to see these two basketball giants go head-to-head once again in what promises to be an exciting showdown.

Both teams are focused on securing a spot in the Paris Games, with Slovenia coach Aleksander Sekulic expressing his excitement for the upcoming game. Despite Greece being the favorite as the home team, Sekulic believes Slovenia has a chance to come out on top. The stakes are high as the winner of this semifinal game will face either Croatia or the Dominican Republic in the tournament final, with the coveted Olympic berth on the line.

The previous matchup between Doncic and Antetokounmpo saw both players putting up impressive numbers, with Antetokounmpo scoring 48 points for Milwaukee and Doncic finishing with 40 points for Dallas. This game marked the seventh consecutive time both players achieved at least 27 points in a Luka vs. Giannis showdown. Antetokounmpo has been dominant in all nine of his matchups against Dallas when Doncic is on the court, scoring at least 28 points each time.

For Doncic, playing against a team coached by one of his idols, Vasilis Spanoulis, adds an extra layer of excitement to the game. Doncic has always admired Spanoulis and credits him with being a role model in basketball. The Slovenian star even chose to wear jersey No. 77 as a tribute to Spanoulis, who wore No. 7 during his playing days. The matchup between Slovenia and Greece is not only a battle on the court but also a meeting of mentor and admirer.

As the game approaches, all eyes will be on Doncic and Antetokounmpo as they lead their respective teams in a high-stakes showdown. The outcome of this game will determine which team advances to the tournament final and ultimately secures a spot in the Paris Olympics. Basketball fans around the world are eager to witness this epic matchup between two of the game’s brightest stars as they go head-to-head in a battle for Olympic glory.
