Josh Hill, a young and promising golfer from Dubai, has been chosen to represent the strong England Men’s team in the upcoming Home Internationals tournament organized by the R&A. The prestigious competition is scheduled to take place at Murcar Links in Scotland from August 7th to 9th. The 20-year-old, who plays at Trump International in Dubai, is currently studying on a golf scholarship at the University of Tennessee and will be part of the 16-strong England team, consisting of nine men and seven women. The tournament will feature teams from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England competing against each other in individual matches.
The tournament will span over three days and include seven foursomes and 14 singles matches, each played over 18 holes. Josh, having participated in various tournaments in both the UK and US this summer, is now preparing to compete in the Home Internationals event. Despite missing out on qualifying for the recent US Amateur, he remains optimistic and is excited about the upcoming challenge in Scotland. Returning to the US after the event, he will resume his college term at the University of Tennessee, where he is pursuing his golf career.
One of the highlights of Josh’s summer was his tied 7th finish in the 2024 St Andrews Links Trophy, where he showcased his skills on the course. England, known for its strong golfing tradition, has been performing exceptionally well in recent years, winning all three combined Girls’ & Boys’ Home Internationals since 2021, as well as both combined Women’s & Men’s Home Internationals since 2022. The team’s success can be attributed to a talented lineup, including Lottie Woad, who has achieved remarkable milestones in her golfing career, such as winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and becoming the first English female to be named World No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
With a successful track record in recent competitions, the England Men’s team is geared up for the challenge at Murcar Links. Golf Performance Manager Ben Gorvett is optimistic about the team’s prospects, considering their recent achievements in various championships. The squad comprises skilled players like Seb Cave, Dominic Clemons, Matthew Dodd-Berry, Charlie Forster, Daniel Hayes, Josh Hill, Will Hopkins, Tom Osborne, and Harley Smith, representing different regions across England. The team will aim to continue its winning streak against tough competition at the upcoming Home Internationals tournament.
As Josh Hill gears up to represent England in the Home Internationals, golf enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting his performance on the course. With his talent and dedication, Josh has the potential to make a significant impact in the tournament and contribute towards England’s success.
