Jon Rahm is leading the 54-hole $25 million LIV Golf Chicago with a second-round score of six-under 64, taking a one-shot lead. The tournament is part of the LIV Golf League and has attracted a large crowd of 15,000-plus fans, setting a record for single-day attendance in the US. Rahm, representing Legion XIII, is currently at seven under and holds a one-shot lead over Sergio Garcia from Fireballs GC on the leaderboard. He also has a three-shot advantage over Joaquim Niemann, the captain of Torque GC, who needs to finish ahead of Rahm.

Rahm, who earned his first LIV Golf win in July in the UK, expressed his goal to focus on the tournament and secure another victory. The primary objective is to win the tournament, which will then take care of everything else for Rahm. Additionally, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, led by Anirban Lahiri, have already secured one of the three available seeds along with Rahm’s Legion XIII. The Crushers are currently tied for the lead with Cleeks GC at 10 under, and a victory in the final round would secure the No. 1 overall seed for them.

Brooks Koepka, the first-round leader, struggled in the second round, finishing with a 73 after a strong opening 62. He ended the day at five under and solo third. Niemann is tied for fourth place at four under, alongside Adrian Meronk and Ian Poulter. Meronk, who started with a 71 in the first round, bounced back with an impressive 65 in the second round, putting him in contention for the title. The final round is set to tee off, with Meronk playing in the penultimate group alongside Poulter and Niemann.

In the team event, all four scores count in the final round, adding a competitive edge to the tournament. The 36-hole team standings show Cleeks GC leading at -11, followed closely by Crushers GC at -10, and Fireballs GC at -6. Other teams are also vying for top positions in the standings. As the tournament progresses, the excitement and competition continue to build among the players and teams, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the LIV Golf Chicago event.
