Fuwayrit (IRE) emerged victorious in the feature race of the 2nd Al Rayyan Race Meeting – Sealine Cup (Div1), showcasing a triumphant return to action. The seven-year-old gelding, owned by Sharida Bin Nasser Bin Sharida Al Kaabi, secured a hard-fought win by a neck under the guidance of jockey Marco Casamento. Coming in second was General Panic (GB) ridden by Tomas Lukasek, with Monsieur Noir (GB) in third place. The race took place at the Al Uqda grass track and Fuwayrit’s performance earned praise from trainer Jassim Al Ghazali.

The 1400m Purebred Arabian Conditions race for five-year-olds and older saw AJS Jamran (BE) (AF AlBahar x July Du Falgas) clinch a dominant victory for Al Jeryan Stud. Under the guidance of jockey Szczepan Mazur and trainer M H K Al Attiyah, the horse crossed the finish line by three-quarters of a length ahead of Shgarde (US) in second place and Eifrit (FR) in third place. The presentation ceremony saw Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) Racing Manager Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi present the winners’ trophies.

Another thrilling race was the Purebred Arabian Conditions race for four-year-olds, where Al Khbaib (FR) (Al Mamun Monlau x AJS Rudainah) dominated the competition with a sensational four-and-a-quarter-length margin victory. Owned by Al Shaqab Racing and trained by Jean de Mieulle, the horse was guided to victory by jockey Olivier d’Andigne. The race also featured strong performances from Shagraan (FR) in second place and Tamannite (FR) in third place.

Rothstein (IRE) (Invincible Army x Silver Rainbow) emerged victorious in the Thoroughbred Handicap (0-95) for three-year-olds. Owned by Wathnan Racing and trained by Alban de Mieulle, Rothstein secured the win by a length and a quarter under jockey Saadi’s guidance. The day’s opening race, the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for 4YOs, was won by Dhouha (QA) (TM Thunder Struck x Deebah), owned by Khamis Ali Khamis Al Sulaiti. Trained by Hadi Al Ramzani and ridden by Saadi, Dhouha secured a clear victory by three and a half lengths.

In conclusion, the 2nd Al Rayyan Race Meeting – Sealine Cup (Div1) was a showcase of thrilling races and impressive performances by both horses and jockeys. The event brought together owners, trainers, and racing enthusiasts to witness the excitement of horse racing at the Al Uqda grass track. The victories of Fuwayrit (IRE), AJS Jamran (BE), Al Khbaib (FR), Rothstein (IRE), and Dhouha (QA) added to the excitement of the event, highlighting the talent and dedication of the participants. The success of these races further cements Qatar’s growing reputation as a hub for equestrian sports and showcases the strong connection between humans and horses in the world of racing.
