Farida Mudhar, owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, secured the top spot in the Yearling Fillies (2 Years Old) 4A category at the prestigious Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show, held at the Longines Arena. The event, supported by the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam), features a total of 285 horses vying for top honors, with a distinguished jury overseeing the competition.
The second day of the event saw Shamikhat Al Hawajer of Al Thamer Stud clinching the second position, while Fadwa Mudar, also owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, came third in the Yearling Fillies category. In the Yearling Fillies (2 Years Old) 4B class qualifiers, Harriya Al Nasser of Al Nasser Stud emerged as the winner, with Sheikha Mudhar and KH Mazyouna following in second and third place respectively.
Qualifying rounds for various categories, including two-year-old fillies, three-year-old fillies, and one-year-old colts, took place on the previous day. The competition is scheduled to continue until tomorrow, with the focus shifting to mares and stallions in different age groups as they vie for top honors.
Dr. Fahad Al Hajri, Director of Protocol and Public Relations at Al Shaqab, highlighted the strong level of competition and the significant participation of horse owners within and outside Qatar. He emphasized the importance of promoting Arabian horses and preserving Qatari heritage through events like the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show.
