Liverpool’s Japanese midfielder, Wataru Endo, is not only showcasing his skills on the Premier League stage, but he is also leading the charge for Japan as they aim to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup. Endo, who has been a key player for Liverpool, is determined to help his national team overcome their recent struggles against Asian opposition.

Japan’s disappointing exit in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup earlier this year, coupled with their shaky start in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, has left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Japanese players. However, Endo remains optimistic and believes that Japan has the quality and talent to turn things around and make a strong start in the third round of the World Cup qualifications.

The upcoming match against China is crucial for Japan as they look to redeem themselves and make a statement in their quest for World Cup qualification. Endo emphasized the importance of staying positive and not dwelling on past disappointments. With a tricky group that includes Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Australia, Japan will need to be at their best to secure one of the top two spots that guarantee a place in the World Cup.

Japan’s coach, Hajime Moriyasu, has some key players returning to the squad, including Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma and winger Junya Ito. Mitoma, who has been sidelined due to injury since the Asian Cup, and Ito, who faced off-field issues last year but has since been cleared of any wrongdoing, will bring additional firepower and defensive stability to the team.

Endo’s leadership on the field and his positive mindset could be the driving force behind Japan’s World Cup qualification campaign. With his experience and determination, he is determined to guide Japan to success and help them overcome their recent setbacks. As Japan prepares to face China in their first match of the third round of World Cup qualifiers, all eyes will be on Endo and his teammates as they look to make a strong start and pave the way towards World Cup glory.
