Emirati athletes excel at Jiu-Jitsu championship in Paris – News

Emirati Jiu-Jitsu fighters, Shammah AlKalbani and Khaled AlShehhi, showcased their skills and represented the UAE at the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship in Paris, France. Both athletes emerged victorious in their respective matches, bringing home two wins and highlighting their prowess in the sport. AlKalbani, the first Emirati woman to compete and win at ADXC, also made history as the first female Jiu-Jitsu player to win a medal at the World Games in Alabama. Additionally, she holds the title of Asian Champion in Jiu-Jitsu, further solidifying her position as a formidable competitor in the sport.

Competing against Lina Grosset from France in the preliminary card, AlKalbani displayed exceptional skills and determination, ultimately securing a win via split decision. Her ability to overpower her opponent with significant attacks impressed the referees and secured her victory in the match. Meanwhile, AlShehhi, a black belt athlete with a distinguished record of achievements, also won via split decision in the co-main event against his opponent from Brazil, Leonardo Mario. With a history of success in Jiu-Jitsu dating back to 2012 when he was just eight years old, AlShehhi’s talent and dedication have propelled him to the top of the sport.

The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship is a prestigious competition that attracts high-level players from around the world, providing a platform for athletes like AlKalbani and AlShehhi to showcase their skills and compete against top talent. Held in Paris, France, the recent edition of ADXC marked a significant milestone for both Emirati fighters as they succeeded in overcoming formidable opponents and securing victories in their respective matches.
