Sean Levey had an unforgettable victory aboard Rosallion in the Irish 2000 Guineas at The Curragh. The Dubai-owned colt, trained by Richard Hannon, gave Levey his first career win in the prestigious race. Rosallion held off stable mate Haatem in a thrilling mile race, with Hannon claiming his first victory in the event as well. The home-bred colt, bred by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktou, is set to compete in the St James’s Palace at Royal Ascot next, where he will face off against Godolphin’s 2,000 Guineas winner Notable Speech.
Levey, who is currently based with Hannon, expressed his satisfaction with the hard-fought victory, stating that he was confident in Rosallion’s abilities throughout the race. He commended the colt’s determination and resilience in securing the win. Levey’s previous experience with Irish legend Aidan O’Brien has undoubtedly contributed to his success as a jockey, and his partnership with Rosallion has proven to be a winning combination. The victory was especially meaningful for Levey, who had his first-ever ride at The Curragh with O’Brien.
In a display of talent and skill, last year’s Coventry Stakes hero River Tiber finished third on his seasonal debut under the guidance of jockey Ryan Moore. The competition was fierce and the race provided a thrilling spectacle for horse racing enthusiasts. Levey’s win serves as a testament to his dedication and perseverance as a jockey, and his partnership with Rosallion continues to yield impressive results. The upcoming race at Royal Ascot promises to be an exciting showdown between Rosallion and Notable Speech, further highlighting the talent and potential of these remarkable horses.
The victory at the Irish 2000 Guineas solidifies Levey’s reputation as a rising star in the world of horse racing. His determination and skill have earned him opportunities to compete at top-tier events, such as Royal Ascot, where he will face stiff competition from other talented jockeys and horses. Levey’s success with Rosallion is a testament to the strong bond between horse and rider, as well as the strategic training and guidance provided by the Hannon team. As the racing season progresses, Levey’s fans eagerly anticipate his future triumphs on the track.
