Athletes competing in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 received top-notch medical care from Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Aspetar, known globally for its expertise in sports medicine, partnered with the tournament’s Local Organizing Committee to provide a range of medical services to the players. This included on-site medical personnel at stadiums, expert guidance on sports injuries and illnesses, and collaboration with local partners for emergency care and ambulance services at all venues.

Hassan Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at the LOC, emphasized the importance of leveraging Aspetar’s expertise to provide the best medical care to Asia’s rising football stars. The partnership with Aspetar reaffirmed Qatar’s standing as a leading sports destination and ensured that athletes at the tournament received world-class medical attention. Aspetar also allocated massage and physio therapists to support the referees participating in the competition.

The medical services provided by Aspetar for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 were available 24 hours a day, with doctors accessible at team hotels and the Medical Command Center round the clock. Dr. Khalid Al Khelaifi, Chief Medical Officer of the LOC’s medical committee, highlighted the legacy of supporting athletes at mega-sporting events in Qatar. The goal was to ensure that the tournament’s participants, who are potential future Olympians, performed at their peak by receiving the best possible medical care.

This edition of the biennial tournament served as Asia’s qualifiers for the Men’s Olympic football tournament in Paris. Japan emerged as champions, followed by Uzbekistan and Iraq in qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Indonesia secured fourth place and will compete in a play-off match against Guinea, the representative from Africa, for a final spot at the Summer Games. Aspetar’s involvement in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup showcased the advanced services provided by the hospital in the field of sports medicine, according to Khalid Al Naama, Marketing and Communications Director at Aspetar.

In conclusion, the partnership between Aspetar and the LOC for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 ensured that athletes received exceptional medical care throughout the competition. Aspetar’s reputation as a leading sports medicine facility was highlighted through the provision of expert guidance, on-site medical personnel, and collaboration with local partners for emergency services. The success of the tournament, in terms of player well-being and performance, was attributed to Aspetar’s contribution to the event. Looking ahead, Aspetar remains committed to continuing its support for athletes at mega-sporting events, reinforcing its position as a global leader in sports medicine.
