Al Rayyan player Al Hajri announces retirement

After an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Al Rayyan football team’s goalkeeper Saud Al Hajri has announced his retirement from the game. He leaves behind a legacy of success and achievement, having been a key player in the team’s many championship wins. Al Hajri has now transitioned to a new role within the club, taking on the position of vice president of the first team’s football staff.

Throughout his time with Al Rayyan, Al Hajri played a pivotal role in securing numerous championship titles for the team. He was a part of four Amir Cup victories in 2006, 2010, 2011, and 2013, as well as the League Championship in 2015-2016. Additionally, he contributed to the team’s success in winning the Qatar Cup in 2012, and two Sheikh Jassim Cup championships in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. His impressive track record on the field has solidified his status as a football legend in Qatar.

As he bids farewell to his playing career, Al Hajri expressed his gratitude for the support and opportunities he received during his time with Al Rayyan. He credited the club and its fans for their unwavering support throughout his journey, and acknowledged that his success would not have been possible without their backing. Al Hajri also expressed excitement about his new role within the club, and his eagerness to contribute to its continued success in a different capacity.

Having dedicated more than 20 years to the game of football, Al Hajri’s retirement marks the end of an era for both him and his fans.
