Al Duhail secured a 1-0 victory over Al Rayyan in a thrilling match on Friday at Grand Hamad Stadium as part of Group A in the 2024-2025 QSL Cup. The only goal was scored by Spanish player Luis Alberto from a penalty in the 25th minute. Al Rayyan had a chance to equalize in stoppage time but Mubarak Shanan missed a penalty in the 90th minute. This win gives Al Duhail their third victory in the tournament, leading the group with 9 points, while Al Rayyan suffered their first loss and remain in second place with 6 points.

In another exciting match, Al Arabi defeated Al Shahaniya 2-0 at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. Wassim Qadari and Ala’a Eldin Hassan scored in the 13th and 22nd minutes, respectively. This victory places Al Arabi in third place with 6 points, tied with Al Rayyan but behind on goal difference. On the other hand, Al Shahaniya remains at the bottom of the group with 1 point after their second loss in the tournament.

Al Ahli claimed a 1-0 victory over Qatar SC at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, with Spanish player Erik Exposito scoring the game’s only goal in the 65th minute. This win gives Al Ahli their first victory in the QSL Cup, propelling them to fourth place with 3 points. Qatar SC, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat and remain in fifth place with 1 point.

The third round of the QSL Cup will conclude with two more matches on Saturday. Umm Salal, the defending champions, will face Al Gharafa at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, while Al Khor will meet Al Shamal at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. The teams are divided into two groups based on their final rankings in the previous league season, with Group A including Al Rayyan, Al Arabi, Al Duhail, Qatar SC, Al Ahli, and Al Shahaniya, while Group B consists of Al Gharafa, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Shamal, and Al Khor. Notably, Al Sadd has withdrawn from the tournament this season.

Umm Salal emerged victorious in the 12th edition of the QSL Cup last season after defeating Al Arabi 3-1 in a penalty shootout following a thrilling 4-4 draw in the final match. With the competition heating up in the ongoing tournament, fans can expect more exciting matches and unexpected results as the teams battle it out for the coveted trophy. Stay tuned for more thrilling action in the QSL Cup!
