The Euro 2024 final saw Spain emerging victorious against England with a dramatic late winner scored by substitute Mikel Oyarzabal. The win confirmed Spain’s re-emergence as a force in international football and dashed England’s hopes of winning their first title in almost six decades. Despite losing influential midfielder Rodri to injury at halftime, Spain took the lead through Nico Williams, set up by Lamine Yamal.

England, known for their comebacks, equalized through substitute Cole Palmer but were unable to maintain the scoreline as Oyarzabal secured the win for Spain with a goal in the 86th minute. This victory marked Spain’s fourth European Championship title, with the previous ones coming in 1964, 2008, and 2012. Led by young talents like Yamal, this Spanish side proved to be the dominant team throughout the tournament.

Despite the majority of the crowd supporting England at the Olympiastadion, Spain controlled the game and emerged as deserving champions. England, hoping for their first international title since 1966, fell just short of victory. The defeat marked their second consecutive loss in Euro finals, with captain Harry Kane still seeking his first major trophy at the age of 30.

The game saw Spain dominating possession from the start, with England struggling to keep up. Spain opened the scoring shortly after losing Rodri to injury, showcasing their ability to adapt to challenges. England, known for their resilience, equalized through Palmer, but it was Oyarzabal who secured the victory for Spain with a late goal. Despite a valiant effort from England, Spain held on to claim their fourth Euro title.

The game was a testament to Spain’s quality and composure, with Yamal and Williams playing crucial roles in their victory. Spain’s triumph in Euro 2024 solidified their status as a footballing powerhouse and showcased the talent of their young generation. As for England, the defeat was a tough pill to swallow, especially for Kane, who continues to chase his first major trophy. Overall, the final was a fitting end to a thrilling tournament, with Spain emerging as worthy champions.
