Doha, Qatar – The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Snoonu, a prominent Qatari super-app, have finalized a sponsorship agreement making Snoonu the Official Delivery Services Sponsor of the QFA and an official sponsor of the national team through 2028. The partnership aims to bolster football development in Qatar and leverage Snoonu’s growing brand recognition. This collaboration represents a significant investment in Qatari sports and a commitment to supporting national teams during key tournaments.

The signing ceremony took place at the QFA’s headquarters within the Iconic 2022 building on December 3, 2023, with Mansour Mohammed Al-Ansari, QFA Secretary General, and Hamad Mubarak Al-Hajri, Founder and CEO of Snoonu, formally signing the agreement. Representatives from both organizations, along with members of the local media, were present for the announcement.

Snoonu Partners with QFA in Landmark Sponsorship Deal

This agreement marks a strategic move for both parties. The QFA seeks to expand its network of sponsors and secure funding for its various football initiatives, while Snoonu aims to enhance its brand visibility and connect with a broader audience through its association with Qatar’s national sport. The sponsorship extends to all national team activities and is timed to coincide with the ongoing Arab Cup.

According to the QFA, the partnership with Snoonu will contribute to enriching sports activity across the country and supporting shared humanitarian and community objectives. These types of collaborations are increasingly important for sports organizations, offering a sustained revenue stream beyond traditional sources.

Benefits for the Qatar Football Association

The financial support from Snoonu will allow the QFA to invest further in grassroots football programs, player development, and infrastructure improvements. This includes initiatives designed to identify and nurture young talent within Qatar, directly impacting the future success of the national team. Additionally, the partnership provides opportunities for joint marketing campaigns and fan engagement activities.

Snoonu’s Expanding Role in Qatar

Snoonu has rapidly become a leading super-app in Qatar, offering a diverse range of services including food delivery, grocery shopping, and logistics solutions. This sponsorship aligns with the company’s ambition to be a key contributor to the Qatari economy and its vision of supporting national development. The deal signifies Snoonu’s ascending position as a major corporate player in the region.

The timing of the sponsorship is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with the FIFA Arab Cup 2023, hosted in Qatar. This presents Snoonu with a unique platform to showcase its services to a large, both domestic and international, audience. Hamad Mubarak Al-Hajri stated his pleasure at becoming a sponsor as the tournament commenced.

The Qatar sports sector has seen increasing investment from both public and private entities in recent years, fueled in part by the successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This trend towards QFA sponsorship is expected to continue as Qatar aims to solidify its reputation as a global sports hub. Related sectors, such as food delivery services, are also benefiting from heightened exposure and economic activity.

Looking ahead, the Qatari national team is preparing for future competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup 2024. The impact of the Snoonu sponsorship on team performance and development will be closely monitored. Further details regarding specific joint initiatives and marketing activations are anticipated in the coming months, as is the degree to which this partnership influences Qatar sports tourism. The long-term success of the collaboration will depend on the ability of both organizations to effectively leverage their respective strengths and contribute to the growth of football in Qatar.
