Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, two rising stars in the tennis world, had a strong start at the US Open despite facing some initial challenges in the first round. Sinner, the world number one, overcame a set and break deficit against Mackenzie McDonald to secure a thrilling win. On the other hand, Alcaraz, the third seed and reigning 2022 champion, faced a tough battle against qualifier Li Tu but managed to come out on top in a four-set match.
