Rakhesh Brahmanandan, a well-known musician and actor from India, has found a second home in Dubai, where his artistic journey has thrived since his debut in 2007. Coming from a family of music legends, including his father and guru K P Brahmanandan, Rakhesh has made a mark as a playback singer in Malayalam films and has collaborated with renowned music composers. His portfolio includes over 200 songs in five languages, showcasing his soulful renditions and versatile talent.

Apart from music, Rakhesh has also ventured into acting, voice-over artistry, and television anchoring, further expanding his artistic repertoire. In a recent interview, he spoke about Dubai’s role in upholding high musical standards and his belief in the transformative power of independent music. He also touched upon the spiritual aspect of creativity, emphasizing his passion for music that resonates with the soul and shared insights on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in music production.

Rakhesh shared his experience in Dubai, describing the city as his second home due to the warm reception he has received since his debut. He highlighted the importance of appreciation for artistic work over monetary rewards and praised Dubai’s educated and informed audience for their high musical standards and diverse music exposure compared to India where film-driven music dominates the scene.

The musician expressed his belief that independent music is a platform for new genres to emerge and creativity to flourish, transcending conventional boundaries and experimenting with diverse musical influences. He also envisioned a global fusion of music genres, citing examples of international artists exploring Indian music and the potential for a pan-Indian music trend.

Rakhesh expressed his interest in collaborating with Arabic musicians in Dubai, citing his appreciation for Arabic music inspired by his father’s influence. He discussed the similarities between Arabic and Carnatic music and proposed blending the two styles to create a unique fusion. Additionally, he praised the Malayalam film industry for its depth in portraying human emotions and storytelling, attributing its success to a profound understanding of humanity.

The artist delved into the importance of meditation and detachment in enhancing creativity and connecting with one’s artistry. He emphasized the discipline and dedication required to channel creativity effectively, despite distractions in today’s digital age. Rakhesh also shared his views on artificial intelligence in music production, acknowledging its technological advancements but emphasizing the irreplaceable emotional depth and soulful essence that human creators bring to music.
