The historical drama Shogun leads the nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards with a total of 25 nominations, including a nomination for Best Drama. The FX network series will be competing against other top contenders such as The Crown and The Morning Show. Another FX show, The Bear, received 23 nominations, a record for a comedy series. The show’s second season will compete for Best Comedy, a category it won at the last Emmys.

In addition to The Bear, other comedy nominees include Abbott Elementary and Hacks. Baby Reindeer, a Netflix series about a bartender stalked by a customer, was nominated for Best Limited Series. The series received a total of 11 nominations, with creator and star Richard Gadd facing a defamation lawsuit over the portrayal of the stalker. Competitors for Best Limited Series include Ripley, Fargo, and True Detective: Night Country.

Netflix topped all networks with 107 nominations, including 18 for The Crown. FX followed closely behind with 93 nods, while HBO and its streaming service Max received 91 nominations. The Emmy winners will be announced at a red-carpet ceremony broadcast live on ABC on September 15. The honorees will be chosen by the Television Academy, which consists of nearly 22,000 performers, directors, and producers.

The last Emmys were held just six months ago in January, following a delay caused by strikes from Hollywood writers and actors. This year’s ceremony promises to be a celebration of the best in television, with a diverse range of shows and talent being recognized for their outstanding work. Fans can look forward to an exciting night of awards and performances from some of the industry’s biggest stars.
