Selvaraj and Al Blooshi named champions of the 2023-2024 EGF Order of Merit for Men and Women – News

Jonathan Selvaraj and Faye Al Blooshi emerged as the top players in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, in the 2023-24 Order of Merits after the final qualifying event at the EGF Order of Merit Championship. Selvaraj, a 20-year-old with a +4 handicap, participated in 15 qualifiers and the Championship, securing the top spot in the Men’s EGF Order of Merit. Selvaraj has been coached at various clubs but is currently under the guidance of EGF coaches. He is also pursuing a Math Degree at Cumbria University in England. Al Blooshi clinched the Ladies’ Gross Division title, with presentations made at Al Zorah Golf Club as part of the Order of Merit Championship.

The season featured 23 Men’s Order of Merit qualifying events, with the Els Club Men’s Open being canceled due to weather conditions. Selvaraj expressed his satisfaction in achieving his goal of winning the EGF Men’s Order of Merit amid strong competition. Al Blooshi secured her victory in the Ladies’ Gross Division, with Dr. R. Al Haj topping the Ladies’ Net Division. Additionally, Junior Boys and Girls Order of Merit winners were also recognized, showcasing a diverse range of talented players within the EGF community. The awards were presented by EGF Board Member Walid Al Attar at the Championship event.

The successful conclusion of the EGF Order of Merit Championship marked the end of a competitive season that saw outstanding performances from players across various divisions. Selvaraj’s dedication to his golf program while balancing his online studies demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. With victory in the Men’s Order of Merit, Selvaraj’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and skill on the course. Al Blooshi’s triumph in the Ladies’ division further highlights the talent and dedication of female golfers within the EGF framework.
