Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan dominated the 120km Euston Park Endurance ride in the UK, 15 years ago. The race was part of the ‘Ride with the Stars’ event, featuring some of the world’s finest horses and riders. The father and son duo crossed the finish line in a strong 1-2 finish, with Sheikh Mohammed riding Acadini and Sheikh Hamdan on Jazyk. They covered the challenging course, which included rivers, meadows, and plains, showcasing their exceptional horsemanship and endurance skills.

The victory was a proud moment for both Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan, who completed the race in impressive times of 5:07:47 and 5:07:48, respectively. The duo celebrated their win by hoisting the UAE flag during a victory run, symbolizing their pride in representing their country in the prestigious international event. The race was a test of both the riders’ and horses’ capabilities, requiring them to navigate through tough terrain and harsh conditions to emerge victorious.

Sheikh Mohammed’s love for horses is well-known, as he is considered one of the most successful racehorse owners in the world. His passion for horses is highlighted in his poetry book ‘For the Love of Horses’, which features a collection of poems celebrating his deep connection with these majestic animals. In another book titled ‘Qissati (My Story)’, Sheikh Mohammed reminisces about his childhood spent sleeping in the stable with his horse, showcasing the strong bond he shares with horses since a young age.

The bond between Sheikh Mohammed and his horses extends to his belief that a horse is like family. He emphasizes the importance of caring for horses like children, as they provide loyalty, protection, and support in times of need. Sheikh Mohammed’s upbringing in a household where both his father and mother shared his passion for horses has shaped his deep-rooted love and appreciation for these animals. His dedication to preserving and promoting the beauty and legacy of Arabian horses is evident in his ongoing commitment to the equestrian world.
