The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has issued the first operational license for a commercial agricultural project utilizing aeroponics in the Middle East. The project, spearheaded by a coalition of local and international companies, aims to meet the local market’s agricultural needs through sustainable production. This innovative approach to farming is set to revolutionize the agricultural industry in the region and contribute to the Kingdom’s National Agriculture Strategy and Vision 2030 goals. The project’s first phase has already been completed, showcasing the efficiency and productivity of aeroponics in producing various vegetable varieties.

The license for the commercial agricultural project utilizing aeroponics was presented by Undersecretary for Agriculture at the Ministry, Eng. Ahmad Al-Ayada, during a ceremony attended by representatives of Tamimi Markets Group from Saudi Arabia, Mitsui Group from Japan, and Zero Group from Italy. The collaboration between these companies, under the Green Dunes Company, aims to bring modern agricultural solutions to the region by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). The integration of AI and automation at all production stages will help optimize output and ensure sustainable agricultural practices are followed.

Aeroponics, the method of growing plants without soil, has been gaining popularity due to its efficiency and reduced water consumption compared to traditional farming techniques. By suspending roots in the air and irrigating them with a nutrient-dense mist, aeroponics enables year-round productivity and higher crop yields. The project’s use of advanced monitoring systems and performance indicators further emphasizes the innovative approach towards sustainable agriculture in the region. This technology-driven farming method is set to transform how food is grown and produced in the Middle East.

The completion of the project’s first phase marks a significant milestone in the advancement of aeroponics in the Middle East. With a focus on sustainability and efficiency, the project aims to address the growing demand for locally produced agricultural products while reducing water consumption and environmental impact. By embracing modern agricultural solutions powered by AI and automation, the coalition of companies involved in the project is setting an example for the future of farming in the region. With the support of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, this commercial aeroponics project is positioned to make a lasting impact on the agricultural industry in the Middle East.

As the first operational license for a commercial agricultural project utilizing aeroponics in the Middle East, this initiative sets a precedent for sustainable farming practices in the region. By showcasing the benefits of aeroponics in reducing water consumption and increasing productivity, the project highlights the potential for innovative technologies to drive agricultural development. The collaboration between local and international companies further emphasizes the global significance of this initiative and its alignment with the Kingdom’s broader goals of sustainable agriculture. With the successful completion of the project’s first phase, the future of aeroponics in the Middle East looks promising and poised for further growth and expansion.
