Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef’s official visit to the United States aims to strengthen collaboration in industry and mining, enhance bilateral ties, and attract investments to Saudi Arabia. The visit, lasting until September 28, will see Al-Khorayef travel to New York, California, and Nevada to engage with government officials and CEOs of major American companies.

In New York, Al-Khorayef will participate in an event with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to garner support for Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the 21st session of the UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh in 2025. The event also focuses on strengthening ties between the Kingdom and UNIDO to develop innovative industrial solutions for regional and global growth. He will also tour the New York Stock Exchange and visit Columbia University to engage with faculty and students.

Heading to Las Vegas, Al-Khorayef will attend “MINExpo,” the world’s premier mining exhibition, to meet with representatives from leading mining firms and explore the latest technologies used in mining operations. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources will actively participate in the exhibition organized by the National Mining Association (NMA) to showcase Saudi Arabia’s mining potential.

In Los Angeles, Al-Khorayef will host a roundtable meeting with heads of major US companies to discuss promising sectors outlined in the National Industrial Strategy and explore opportunities and incentives for foreign investors. He will also visit advanced industries such as JetZero and SpaceX to learn about cutting-edge technologies in aviation and space exploration.

Additionally, Al-Khorayef will meet with Saudi students studying in the US to highlight Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering educational ties. The economic relations between Saudi Arabia and the US are robust, with non-oil exports reaching SR10.08 billion in 2023 and imports valued at SR67.61 billion. Key exports include chemical products, basic metals, aircraft, and transport equipment, while significant imports comprise nuclear reactors, railway locomotives, optical instruments, and pharmaceuticals.

In conclusion, Minister Bandar Al-Khorayef’s visit to the US aims to strengthen ties between the two countries, attract investments to Saudi Arabia, and explore opportunities for collaboration in industry and mining. Through engagements with government officials, CEOs of major American companies, and visits to key institutions, Al-Khorayef seeks to showcase Saudi Arabia’s potential in various sectors and foster economic growth. The visit underscores the importance of international partnerships in driving innovation, promoting industrial development, and advancing bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
