The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in Mauritania is gearing up for the first Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet. This competition, which will run from October 15 to 19, is a joint effort between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education in Mauritania and will become an annual event throughout West African countries. A total of 136 participants from 16 countries will compete, with five judges overseeing each component of the competition – the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. These judges are experts in Quranic recitations and Hadith sciences.

The main goal of this competition is to promote moderation and balance among the youth, in line with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. By encouraging young people to memorize and understand the holy texts, the organizers aim to foster a sense of spiritual devotion and commitment. The event will span over three days, featuring a qualifying round that will eventually lead up to a closing ceremony on October 19. The total prize pool for the competition is set at SR1,218,000, adding an exciting element to this prestigious event.

Participants in the competition will have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and expertise in Quranic recitations and Hadith sciences. This will not only facilitate healthy competition but also provide a platform for young individuals to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings. The competition is expected to draw audiences from all over the region, creating a sense of unity and camaraderie among like-minded individuals who share a passion for the Quran and Sunnah.

The significance of this competition extends beyond its competitive aspect. It serves as a platform for young people to come together and celebrate their shared love for the Islamic faith, fostering a sense of community and connection among participants. By promoting moderation and balance through the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, the competition aims to instill important values in the youth, paving the way for a more harmonious society. Through the event, participants will not only compete for prizes but also deepen their spiritual connection to the holy texts, enriching their understanding of Islamic teachings.

The competition marks a significant milestone in the efforts to promote Islamic education and understanding in Mauritania and beyond. By hosting this event annually, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is playing a key role in fostering a deeper appreciation for the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah among the youth. The competition will undoubtedly inspire young individuals to delve deeper into their faith and work towards mastering the recitation of the Quran and the knowledge of Hadith sciences, creating a generation of dedicated and knowledgeable individuals who can serve as role models for others.

In conclusion, the first Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet in Mauritania is a highly anticipated event that promises to bring together young individuals from across West African countries in a celebration of Islamic teachings.
