The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has unveiled details of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034, with the bid book submission officially announced at a ceremony in Paris, France. The bid slogan, “Growing. Together.”, is fully supported by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The bid book outlines Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans and infrastructure projects, reflecting the Kingdom’s transformation and its strategy to successfully host one of the world’s largest sporting events.

The bid book outlines five proposed host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2034, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and NEOM. These cities will feature 15 advanced stadiums, with 11 new planned stadiums in total. Riyadh will host the opening and final matches at the new King Salman Stadium, which can accommodate over 92,000 spectators. Other stadiums in Jeddah, Al Khobar, and Abha will be inspired by local heritage and the sea, providing unique experiences for fans.

In addition to the stadiums, the hosting plan includes 10 other locations for training camps across Saudi Arabia. With over 230,000 hotel rooms available in the five host cities, the Kingdom meets FIFA requirements for accommodation. Proposed training venues and Base Camp Training Sites will be spread across 15 cities, ensuring that teams have access to top-notch facilities during the tournament. FIFA Fan Festival sites will also be set up in each host city, providing entertainment and engagement opportunities for fans.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, expressed gratitude to the Leadership for their support of the Kingdom’s sports sector and the Crown Prince for guiding Saudi Arabia’s bid. He emphasized the country’s passion for football and its commitment to making the FIFA World Cup 2034 a success. Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), described the bid as a historical moment for Saudi Arabia and an important step in the development of the country’s football and sports sectors.

An official SAFF delegation led by Prince Abdulaziz officially submitted the bid book at the FIFA ceremony in Paris, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s desire to contribute to the growth of football and host a successful World Cup. The Kingdom’s comprehensive plans to host the tournament are aimed at exciting football fans globally and inspiring future generations. With a focus on combining Saudi Arabia’s football heritage with their deep passion for the game, the bid aims to make the Kingdom the first nation to host a 48-team tournament in one country.
