Saira Banu, the veteran star, shared a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, legendary actor Dilip Kumar, on his death anniversary. Kumar, who passed away on July 7, 2021, was known for his unparalleled acting skills. Banu wrote a poignant letter reminiscing about their relationship and posted a series of photos along with an anecdote about their time together.

In her letter, Banu recalled how Kumar would affectionately call her his ‘sleeping pill’ because after their marriage, he was finally able to get a good night’s sleep. She shared a memorable incident when Kumar wrote her a note seeking her advice on how to fall asleep without her by his side. Banu also mentioned Kumar’s close relationships with prominent personalities such as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and other leaders from various fields.

Banu expressed her gratitude towards Kumar’s admirers, fans, friends, and family for their continuous support and love. She acknowledged the impact Kumar had on the film industry, being an inspiration for six generations of actors. Describing him as a fun-loving person, she concluded her message with a prayer for Kumar to be blessed by Allah in the afterlife.

Dilip Kumar, born on December 11, 1922, began his acting journey with the film Jwar Bhata in 1944. He went on to star in numerous iconic films such as Jugnu, Andaz, Aan, Daag, Madhumati, Devdas, Mughal-E-Azam, and many more. Kumar’s contribution to Indian cinema has left a lasting legacy, making him a revered figure in the industry and beyond. May his memory continue to inspire generations to come.

In her tribute to Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu shared intimate moments and memories from their life together. From his nickname for her to their shared love for music and art, Banu painted a picture of a loving and supportive relationship that transcended time. She highlighted Kumar’s talents as an actor and his friendships with influential figures, showcasing the depth of his character beyond his on-screen persona.

As the world remembers Dilip Kumar on his death anniversary, Saira Banu’s touching tribute serves as a reminder of the enduring love and respect they shared. Through her words, she immortalizes Kumar’s legacy, portraying him not just as a legendary actor but as a beloved husband, friend, and inspiration to many. May his soul rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished by those whose lives he touched.
