Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force Meets with Omani Military Leaders

The visit by Major General Al Ruwais began with a series of crucial meetings at Al Murtafa’a Camp. First, he met with Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces. During this productive session, both leaders discussed a range of military topics of mutual interest, aiming to enhance cooperation and address shared security challenges. The meeting also saw attendance from Brigadier Ahmed Hamid Al Yaqoubi, Commander of the 23rd Infantry Brigade, and Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Yousifi, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces for Operations and Planning, demonstrating the breadth of involvement within the Omani military structure.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force continued his consultations with Major General Matar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman. This meeting, also held at Al Murtafa’a Camp, similarly focused on military matters of shared concern and opportunities for future collaboration. The presence of several senior officers from the Royal Army of Oman further emphasized the importance attached to the discussions.

The Commander was briefed on the center’s multifaceted role, including its efforts to combat piracy, illegal fishing, and other maritime threats. This included a demonstration of surveillance capabilities and response protocols, showcasing the Sultanate’s proactive approach to maritime surveillance and security.
