Royal Oman Police confirms its preparedness for Khareef Dhofar 2024

In preparation for the Khareef Dhofar season 2024, the Dhofar Governorate Police Command is implementing various security measures for tourism events and activities in the governorate. The General Police Command is providing support to enhance police presence in tourist sites and improve the quality of services. Brigadier Saeed bin Hamad Al Balushi, Commander of the Dhofar Governorate Police, mentioned that meetings and field visits were conducted to assess the security and traffic requirements for tourist spots during the Khareef season. Special measures have been put in place to manage the expected increase in tourists, with coordination between various authorities to ensure visitor safety and smooth traffic flow to tourist attractions.

To maintain safety standards and ensure the well-being of citizens and visitors, there is close coordination with other government agencies. Safety measures include installing barriers in high-risk areas, ensuring the suitability of electric toys, and enforcing warning regulations. Along with police officers on roads leading to Dhofar Governorate, Civil Defence, Ambulance teams, and Coast Guard patrols are also present at beaches and springs to raise awareness, respond to reports promptly, conduct rescue operations, and conduct mounted police patrols at various tourist sites.

The Dhofar Governorate Police Commander emphasized the importance of drivers adhering to traffic regulations and safety requirements. Drivers are advised to inspect and maintain their vehicles before traveling to Dhofar Governorate, follow speed limits, avoid overtaking in prohibited areas, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving. These measures aim to ensure the safety of road users and provide immediate assistance during emergency situations.

With support from various Royal Oman Police formations, the Dhofar Governorate Police Command is focused on ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for tourists visiting the region during the Khareef season. Close coordination with government agencies and implementing special security measures will help manage the expected surge in tourist numbers and maintain the safety of visitors at popular tourist sites. The presence of police officers, Civil Defence, Ambulance teams, and Coast Guard patrols will contribute to raising awareness, responding to emergencies, conducting rescue operations, and patrolling various tourist sites to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.
