The Royal Academy of Management in Muscat recently launched a new version of the National Leadership Programme for the Omani Middle Management in the Private Sector, called Etimad. This initiative is a testament to the Academy’s commitment to nurturing national leaders in alignment with Oman Vision 2040. The programme, in partnership with Emeritus and collaboration with Columbia Business School, Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth, and MIT Management Executive Education, aims to empower middle leaders to excel in their performance and revolutionize management practices in line with market trends and future prospects. The programme will welcome 202 participants from diverse private sector backgrounds organized into two cohorts over a span of 7 months.

Participants in the Etimad programme will engage in immersive learning experiences including orientation sessions, simulation workshops, and meet-the-leader sessions. The curriculum is designed to enhance proficiency in digital business strategies, financial analysis, problem-solving, leadership, innovation, and change management at both individual and organizational levels. Dr. Yasmeen Al Bulushi, Head of the Center of Leadership Development, emphasized that the programme has successfully empowered national leaders with updated competencies and efficiency to navigate dynamic changes in the market. The programme uniquely combines in-person and remote learning units, group projects, leadership camps, and development circles to equip participants with the skills needed to lead in the private sector and contribute to the Omani economy.

The Etimad programme targets employees with intermediate leadership experience who have managed departments or teams in the private sector. Over 3,400 applicants underwent a rigorous selection process involving tests, interviews, and assessments of knowledge, skills, and leadership scenarios. Successful candidates were chosen based on their aptitude and potential to benefit from the programme. Through its multi-stage selection process, Etimad has successfully equipped participants with the necessary skills to elevate management standards in various development projects across Oman, contributing directly to the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. This achievement highlights the programme’s effectiveness in nurturing talent that supports Oman’s economic progress and development.

The collaboration with national and international experts ensures that the programme embraces the best global practices and innovative approaches to enhance the participants’ learning experience. Emphasizing the commitment to nurturing national leadership that contributes to the evolving economy, the Etimad programme has become a cornerstone in empowering Omani leaders to navigate through market transformations and drive efficiency within their organizations. By providing a comprehensive curriculum and diverse learning opportunities, the programme aims to cultivate adept leaders who will lead the private sector and contribute to Oman’s market growth with skill and innovation.

In conclusion, the Etimad programme by the Royal Academy of Management in Muscat is a vital initiative aimed at nurturing national leaders in the private sector and aligning them with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. Through a comprehensive curriculum, immersive learning experiences, and a rigorous selection process, the programme equips participants with the skills needed to excel in leadership roles and drive innovation and change within their organizations. By empowering Omani leaders with updated competencies and efficiency, the programme plays a crucial role in advancing Oman’s economic progress and development. With a focus on excellence and performance, the programme stands at the forefront of investing in and cultivating national talent that will shape the future of Oman’s economy.
