The Royal Academy of Administration in Muscat recently launched the ‘Future Leadership Programme’ aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of Omani youth in line with the country’s ‘Oman Vision 2040.’ The program targets 50 Omani youth aged between 25 and 34 years from both public and private sectors. It includes intensive learning sessions, interactive workshops, and practical training in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Globus Europe University, Matters Group, and Chaos Pilot University. The program focuses on real challenges, learning from local and international leadership experiences, enhancing leadership competencies, developing innovative problem-solving strategies, self-awareness, teamwork, and fostering a culture of innovation within institutions.

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to interact with leaders and experts from inside and outside Oman, broadening their horizons, strengthening their professional network, and positively influencing their professional and community environments. The program aims to develop Omani talents and competencies, enhance leadership skills, promote effective leadership, strategic thinking, and innovative solutions, while increasing awareness of innovation and positive change in the work environment. The program spans over six months, consisting of three in-person units and three talent labs, focusing on enhancing future skills and applying international best practices among participants.

A significant aspect of the program is a visit to Japan, where participants will learn about various educational and entrepreneurial institutions and meet with young leaders to exchange views and experiences. The visit will cover topics such as rapid technological changes, change management strategies, developing creativity and innovation skills, and sustainable leadership practices. This visit aims to broaden participants’ horizons, enhance their openness to the world, and expose them to different experiences and cultures, providing new ideas and visions that can be applied in their personal and professional lives.

Dr. Fathia bint Abdullah Al Rashidi, Assistant President of the Royal Academy of Administration for Programs Affairs, stated that the Future Leadership Programme reflects the Academy’s vision to develop young national leaders capable of innovating and positively impacting their communities. Empowering youth today is seen as an investment in Oman’s future, with initiatives like this one part of the Academy’s efforts to build an integrated system in executive education, aligning with national needs and global trends. The program aims to build a network of young leaders who can collaborate to face future challenges and achieve sustainable development in Oman.

The Future Leadership Programme is a crucial step toward nurturing young national leaders who can drive change and achieve sustainable development in both the public and private sectors, fostering a culture of innovation within institutions. Through initiatives like this, the Royal Academy of Administration aims to empower leadership communities in government and private institutions with executive innovation and leadership skills. It is hoped that the program will enhance participants’ readiness to deal with rapid changes and contribute to Oman’s overall development goals.
