Cristiano Ronaldo, the former Manchester United star who played for the club from 2003-2009, recently shared his thoughts on the team’s current situation. Ronaldo believes that Manchester United must rebuild everything from the bottom up in order to compete for top titles again. Despite finishing eighth in the league last season, Ronaldo still has a deep love for the club and believes that they have the potential to succeed if they make the necessary changes.

Ronaldo expressed his views on the ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ podcast, highlighting the importance of rebuilding the club’s infrastructure. He praised the club’s administrators, particularly INEOS boss Jim Ratcliffe, for their investment in the team. Ronaldo emphasized the need for a complete overhaul, stating that Manchester United is still one of the best clubs in the world but that changes are essential for future success.

The Portuguese forward emphasized the importance of rebuilding from the bottom and not just relying on talent to compete at the highest level. Ronaldo believes that a comprehensive reconstruction is necessary for Manchester United to be able to challenge top teams. He also suggested that current manager Erik Ten Hag should seek advice from former United player Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is now an assistant coach, to improve the team’s performance.

With United currently sitting in 14th place in the league, there is already pressure on manager Erik Ten Hag after two defeats in their opening three games. Ronaldo highlighted the significance of incorporating knowledge and experience in the rebuilding process, indicating that Van Nistelrooy’s expertise and understanding of the club could be instrumental in their improvement. Ronaldo expressed optimism about the club’s future but stressed that significant changes are required for them to be competitive.

As Manchester United prepare to face Southampton in their upcoming game, the focus remains on rebuilding and restructuring the team to enhance their performance. Ronaldo’s insights and recommendations underscore the importance of incorporating expertise and experience to guide the club through this transition. With the right strategy and leadership in place, there is potential for Manchester United to reclaim their status as one of the top clubs in the world and compete for prestigious titles once again.
