On September 25, Romain Gerardin-Fresse, a renowned lawyer, strategy magnate, and art collector, organized an intimate event showcasing two French artists in a villa opposite the iconic Burj-al-Arab in Dubai. The event, attended by a select group of guests, featured the works of the visual artists Ventili Viale and Fouch, with 18 paintings and 5 sculptures created specifically for the occasion. The exhibition was the second in a series of temporary exhibitions initiated by Gerardin-Fresse, aiming to provide a unique experience for art lovers and collectors.

The set up for the exhibition was meticulously designed by architect and designer Ali Behnam-Bakhtiar, featuring Baccarat tables, candles, and a violinist to enhance the ambiance. The exhibition, titled ‘From Paris to Dubai’, aimed to offer a blend of French artistry in the backdrop of Dubai’s iconic landmarks. Gerardin-Fresse expressed the importance of playing with light and darkness to showcase the sculptures by Fouch and the backlit works by Ventili Viale, allowing the audience to appreciate the artworks in a unique outdoor setting with the Burj Al Arab as a backdrop.

The exhibition attracted around fifty celebrities, real estate tycoons, collectors, and government officials who admired the unique artworks on display and interacted with the artists. The placement of the works along a designated route allowed the audience to explore and appreciate the pieces as they overlooked the stunning views of the Burj Al Arab. Yaqoob Al Ali, Executive Director & Private Advisor Office of Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, also attended the exhibition with his delegation and commended artist Fouch for his exceptional work.

Overall, the exhibition ‘From Paris to Dubai’ organized by Romain Gerardin-Fresse was a successful showcase of French visual artists in the vibrant city of Dubai. The event provided a platform for talented artists like Ventili Viale and Fouch to exhibit their works to a discerning audience of art enthusiasts and collectors. With a carefully curated selection of paintings and sculptures, the exhibition offered a unique and out-of-the-ordinary experience for attendees to appreciate the fusion of French artistry with the modern cityscape of Dubai.

The strategic location of the villa opposite the Burj-al-Arab added to the allure of the exhibition, creating a picturesque backdrop for the artworks on display. The meticulous design and curation of the event, along with the presence of high-profile guests from various sectors, elevated the significance of the exhibition in the art community. The accolades and appreciation received by the artists and the organizers further underscored the success of the event in bringing together art and culture in a dynamic setting like Dubai.

In conclusion, the exhibition organized by Romain Gerardin-Fresse served as a platform to showcase the talent and creativity of French visual artists in Dubai, bridging the gap between different cultural landscapes. By combining art, architecture, and design in a unique outdoor setting, the event offered an immersive experience for attendees to engage with contemporary artworks while enjoying the beauty of the surroundings. The success of the exhibition highlights the growing interest in art and culture in Dubai, as well as the collaboration between international artists and local patrons to create memorable experiences in the city’s vibrant art scene.
