RIYADH — Foreign ministers of the Six-Party Arab Committee discussed with their American counterpart Antony Blinken the importance of reaching an immediate and complete ceasefire and ending the war in the Gaza Strip. The consultative meeting, chaired by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh on Monday, emphasized that this will be achieved in a way ensuring the protection of civilians and facilitating access to humanitarian aid to the enclave.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for lifting all restrictions that impede the entry of humanitarian aid into all areas of the Gaza Strip in order to ensure that the humanitarian crisis does not worsen. The meeting also reviewed the efforts made by the Six-Party Arab countries in support of the issue of international recognition of the Palestinian state, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people in embodying their independent and sovereign state on the 1967 borders, and taking irreversible steps to implement the two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.

The meeting was attended by Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi; Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Shoukry; Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein Al-Sheikh; Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President Anwar Gargash; and Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi.
