NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani have announced a strategic partnership to build state-of-the-art AI infrastructure in India at the NVIDIA Summit in Mumbai. The partnership aims to accelerate India’s transformation into a global AI powerhouse by leveraging the nation’s vast talent pool and burgeoning digital infrastructure. Ambani highlighted India’s unique position with a youthful population eager to embrace new technologies, and emphasised that the country’s aspirations, combined with visionary leadership, have set the stage for a digital revolution.

Huang praised India’s rapid digitalisation and its potential in the AI sector, highlighting the nation’s IT and computer science expertise as a valuable resource. He stressed the importance of AI infrastructure as a national asset essential for manufacturing intelligence domestically, echoing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of self-reliance in AI. The partnership between NVIDIA and Reliance aims to build AI infrastructure powered by cutting-edge technology, including GB200 GPUs. RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani revealed plans to establish scalable infrastructure powered by green energy.

The goal is to make AI affordable and accessible without requiring consumers to upgrade their devices. By bringing open source to the world of intelligence, Ambani believes that everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the AI revolution. Both leaders spoke about AI’s broader implications for societal prosperity, noting that AI has the ability to elevate the entire population. Ambani envisions India not just as a consumer but as a global provider of AI services, expressing optimism for India’s role in the intelligence era.

The leaders expressed confidence in what India and Indians can achieve in the intelligence market. Ambani stated, “We will surprise the world with what India and Indians can achieve in the intelligence market,” while Huang expressed his privilege in partnering with Ambani on this initiative. The collaboration between NVIDIA and Reliance aims to build AI infrastructure that will position India as a global leader in artificial intelligence, leveraging the nation’s talent and digital infrastructure to drive innovation and growth. With a focus on making AI accessible and affordable, the partnership seeks to democratize intelligence capabilities and enhance societal prosperity through the power of artificial intelligence.
