Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) has announced the opening of registration for the sixth edition of the ‘My Career – My Future’ program for 2024, scheduled to take place from August 4 to 8. The program, held exclusively in Arabic, is designed to give high school students from grades 10 to 12 the opportunity to experience real work environments in various sectors in Qatar. This experience aims to help students make informed academic and career decisions, explore potential future careers, and develop their areas of interest.

Saad Al Kharji, Career Programs and Services Manager at QCDC, expressed his high expectations for the program’s sixth edition, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning and practical exposure for high school students. By highlighting key economic sectors and career paths, the program aligns with the country’s sustainable development goals and aims to ensure fulfilling career lives for students. Al Kharji noted that previous editions of the program have empowered students to become self-reliant, ask critical questions about their academic paths, and develop essential transferable skills.

Students who successfully complete the internship will receive participation certificates indicating the number of hours they spent in the participating institutions. Interested students can register for the program through the QCDC website and select the institutions they would like to join. After completing the registration process, participants will receive a confirmation email and payment instructions. The program offers students a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience, explore different career paths, and develop essential skills for their future careers.

The ‘My Career – My Future’ program covers a wide range of sectors, including Medicine, Media and Communications, Telecommunications, Business, Financial Services, Tourism, Engineering, Technology, Humanitarian, and Social Work. By immersing students in these sectors, the program aims to give them a firsthand look at the day-to-day operations and challenges of various industries. This experience can help students gain a better understanding of different career paths, discover their areas of interest, and make more informed decisions about their academic and career choices.

By participating in the program, students have the opportunity to engage with professionals in their chosen sectors, ask questions, and learn from real-world experiences. This hands-on approach to career exploration allows students to gain valuable insights into the skills and qualifications required for different professions. Through this program, QCDC aims to equip Qatar’s youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to pursue their ideal career paths and contribute to the country’s development goals.

Overall, the ‘My Career – My Future’ program offers high school students in Qatar a unique opportunity to explore various career options, gain practical experience, and develop essential skills for their future careers. By participating in the program, students can make more informed decisions about their academic paths, explore potential career paths, and develop their areas of interest. Through hands-on experience in different sectors, students can gain valuable insights into the world of work and prepare themselves for successful and fulfilling career lives. Interested students can register for the program online and select the institutions they would like to intern with, providing them with a valuable opportunity to kickstart their career development journey.
