The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has announced that the registration for the Haj season in 2025 will open on Sunday, September 22, 2024, and continue until October 22, 2024. This announcement was made during a press conference at the Ministry’s headquarters. The Director of the Department of Haj and Umrah, Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, stated that registration will be done through the Ministry’s website, hajj.gov.qa. The electronic raffle will begin after the registration phase is completed, with approvals being sent to applicants in November.

According to Al Misifri, the early opening of registration for Haj in 2025 will allow Haj operators to complete their contracts early and provide better services to the pilgrims of Qatar. This decision was made after the success of the early registration process in the previous season. Qatar’s Haj quota for 2025 is set at 4,400 pilgrims. Qatari pilgrims must be at least 18 years old to register for Haj and are allowed to register three companions. Gulf citizens and expatriates must be at least 45 years old and have resided in the country for at least 15 years, with only one companion allowed per application.

Al Misifri emphasized the importance of registering companions in the same main application to avoid any potential issues. The registration process via the Ministry’s website will be explained in detail through an illustrative video clip on social media platforms. Currently, there are 27 licensed and accredited Haj tour operators in Qatar. Al Misifri encouraged people to contact the Haj and Umrah Affairs Department for inquiries or complaints via the hotline (132) during official working hours.

Preparations for the upcoming Haj season in Saudi Arabia have already begun, with a focus on providing distinguished services to the pilgrims. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has announced the distribution of countries’ quotas of pilgrims and a timeline for completing all contracts related to housing, food, transportation, and permits. This timeline also includes the opening of the Saudi electronic system, entering the names of approved operators, and details of the contracts. Overall, the registration for the Haj season in 2025 aims to streamline the process and provide improved services to the pilgrims of Qatar.

The early opening of registration aims to provide better services to the pilgrims, with a focus on completing contracts early.
