The Royal Saudi Naval Forces hosted the “Red Wave 8” naval exercise at King Faisal Naval Base, concluding a series of advanced maritime maneuvers with participating countries from the Red Sea region. The exercise brought together naval forces from Jordan, Egypt, Djibouti, Sudan, and Yemen, alongside the Kingdom’s land and air forces, and units from the Ministry of Interior’s Border Guard.
The drill, which took place in the presence of Royal Saudi Naval Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Ghuraibi and Director General of the Border Guard Lt. Gen. Shaya Al-Wadaani, featured a range of scenarios designed to enhance regional maritime security. Participating vessels carried out anti-submarine warfare, electronic warfare, and surface and air defense operations, among other advanced naval maneuvers.

According to Exercise Director Rear Adm. Abdullah Al-Anzi, the drill achieved its objectives by enhancing the capabilities of participating countries to deter shared regional threats and supporting collective maritime security. The exercise also helped unify operational concepts and reinforce joint action among participating forces.
