Rayhan Thomas, a Dubai-born Indian golfer, has made a strong showing in the KGiSL Presents Coimbatore Open on the PGTI Tour. After shooting a solid three-under-par 69 in the third round, Thomas is tied for second place with Sachin Baisoya, one stroke behind the leader Akshay Sharma. The competition is tight heading into the final round at the Coimbatore Golf Club, with the top contenders separated by just one stroke. The 24-year-old Thomas, who recently turned pro, is optimistic about his position going into the final round.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, Thomas described his third round as a bit of a grind, but he is pleased to be in contention for the title. Despite the unexpected wind conditions at the course, Thomas feels comfortable and prepared for the final day of the tournament. His uncle is serving as his caddie, following the strict instructions to show up, carry the bag, keep up, and shut up. Thomas’ sister Sasha is also supporting him by walking the course. With the prize fund of ₹1 Crore (AED 437,488), the stakes are high for Thomas at the Coimbatore Open.

The PGTI Professional Golf Tour of India, sponsored by Tata Steel, is the primary governing body for professional golf in India. Established in 2006, the PGTI aims to promote and develop the sport of golf in the country. Thomas is scheduled for a final round tee time at 9.50 am local time, playing in the last group of the day alongside Baisoya and Sharma. As the tournament reaches its climax, Thomas is focused on putting in a strong performance in the final round to contend for the title.

In the Coimbatore Open, Akshay Sharma leads the field at 11-under par, followed closely by Thomas and Baisoya at 10-under par each. With just one shot separating the top contenders, the final round promises to be thrilling as the golfers battle it out for the championship title. Thomas remains determined and excited about his chances as he looks forward to the challenge of the last day of the tournament. With strong support from his family and a competitive field of players, Thomas is set to give his best and compete for victory in the Coimbatore Open.
