Team Abu Dhabi’s Rashed Al Qemzi is setting his sights on regaining the lead in the 2024 UIM F2 World Championship and is determined to emerge victorious in the upcoming Grand Prix of Italy. With only a four-point gap separating him from the current leader, Edgaras Riabko of Lithuania, Al Qemzi is eager to secure another win at San Nazzaro, a venue where he triumphed last year. The Swedish contender Mathilda Wiberg, who is tied on points with Al Qemzi, poses a formidable challenge as he vies for his fifth F2 world title.

Adopting a winning mindset, Al Qemzi emphasized his goal of claiming first place at San Nazzaro and expressed his confidence in his abilities. Despite recognizing the competition posed by Riabko and Wiberg, he remains unwavering in his pursuit of the championship title. Following a less than ideal performance in Lithuania, where he finished fifth, Al Qemzi acknowledges the importance of scoring points in the championship in order to progress to the next round.

If Al Qemzi manages to retain his F2 crown this season, he will surpass Sweden’s Erik Stark as the most successful driver in the history of the championship. After a modest start in 2016, finishing ninth in his first F2 campaign, Al Qemzi steadily climbed the ranks to secure his first world title in 2017. Subsequent victories in 2019, 2021, and 2023 cemented his status as a dominant force in the world of F2 racing.

Looking ahead, the season finale in Portugal awaits the culmination of another thrilling F2 campaign, with back-to-back Grand Prix weekends set to determine the ultimate champion. With Al Qemzi’s determination and track record of success, all eyes will be on him as he aims to solidify his legacy as the most decorated driver in F2 history. The competition is fierce, but Al Qemzi’s unwavering commitment to excellence may pave the way for yet another title triumph in his illustrious career.
