Rashed Al Qemzi, a member of Team Abu Dhabi, has made history by becoming the most successful driver in the UIM F2 World Championship after securing the driver’s title for the fifth time. His victory in Portugal marked his third Grand Prix triumph of the 2024 season, solidifying his status as a top powerboat racing talent. The achievement also brought Team Abu Dhabi its 18th world title since Guido Cappellini took over as team manager nine years ago.

Al Qemzi’s success came after qualifying in second place for the final round of the championship, with a six-point lead over his closest competitor. A second-place finish would have been enough for him to retain the F2 crown. However, he quickly took the lead in the race and never looked back, securing the championship with a commanding victory. Despite encountering mechanical problems and an early exit, Al Mansoori, another member of Team Abu Dhabi, finished third overall in the championship.

Expressing his happiness and gratitude for the support from his team, Al Qemzi reflected on the challenges he faced during the season. He acknowledged the tough competition and the hard work that went into securing the points needed for the championship win. Al Qemzi’s journey in powerboat racing began with victories in the Nations Cup and F4-S world titles before making his mark in the F2 World Championship. His first F2 world title came in 2017, with subsequent victories in 2019, 2021, and 2023.

The Emirati driver’s consistent success and determination have solidified his position as one of the top drivers in the UIM F2 World Championship. With each championship win, Al Qemzi continues to showcase his skills and ability to compete at the highest level of powerboat racing. His achievements have not only brought glory to himself and Team Abu Dhabi but have also inspired aspiring drivers to pursue excellence in the sport.

As Al Qemzi celebrates his historic fifth F2 world title, he remains focused on further honing his skills and competing at the highest level. With a loyal team and strong support behind him, the Emirati driver is poised to continue making waves in the world of powerboat racing. The legacy of Al Qemzi’s achievements serves as a testament to his dedication and passion for the sport, setting a high standard for future generations of powerboat racers to aspire to reach.
