The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) recently completed a surgical convoy in Northern State in Sudan, providing much-needed medical assistance to the local communities. The medical delegation from Doha performed 250 pediatric, urology, and general surgeries, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Dongola Specialized Hospital. This initiative aimed to support poor displaced and local patients, while also alleviating pressure on the health system in Northern State. The Director-General of Northern State MOH, Dr. Satti Hassan Satti, emphasized the importance of such free, high-quality medical services for vulnerable groups in the region.

The health system in Northern State is under strain due to overpopulation, making these medical services crucial for the local population. Dr. Satti highlighted that Qatar’s humanitarian efforts are vital in providing healthcare services to the people of Sudan. The successful completion of this surgical convoy is seen as a significant step towards enhanced collaboration between QRCS and Northern States MOH. By working together, these organizations can continue to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of the communities in need.
